Description Name: Hantumaulh

Faction: Landayaela - the ruined kingdom

1.Aspiration for Leadership:

In ancient times, there was a kingdom meant to be the successor of the great capital city of Vallsedios*, representing all nations. The Havaarasi* living there tried to coexist, caring for the kingdom's well-being with the aim of rebuilding what remained after the dragon wars. Among the inhabitants was Hantumaulh, a great warrior who, through his efforts, became a general. He always knew he was meant for something more, as if leading an entire nation. Aware that no external threat endangered them, the kingdom lived peacefully, unconcerned about tomorrow. However, such a policy did not sit well with Hantumaulh; he believed that his people could achieve great things, and he wanted to help them do so.

The authorities began to fear his intentions, not wanting anything akin to the dragon wars to unfold again. Consequently, they decided to somehow distance him from the center of power. He was sent with his army to the central frozen territories to suppress wild shadow entities, as it was his duty to eliminate these monsters. During the journey, one of his scouts discovered a peculiar crystal with strange energy. This crystal originated from the times of Vallsedios' existence, safeguarded by the Ancients themselves. As Hantumaulh grasped the crystal, he received a vision that the world was once again threatened by an invasion of shadowy beings. From that moment, the kingdom was destined to change.

News reached the kingdom's authorities that Hantumaulh was returning with his army to confront them. A battle ensued at the gates of the capital, but it didn't last long, and Hantumaulh obtained what he had fought for – control over the kingdom. Unfortunately, his reign was not benevolent for the Havaarasi people; he adopted a tyrant's tactics. Over the years, his hatred for the shadow entities grew, and nobody knew the reason behind it. For the following years, the kingdom may not have had the best governance, but it remained far from collapse, and at times, it seemed to be growing in strength.

2.Unending Darkness Leading to Doom:

One evening, several scouts arrived at the king with strange news. They said they had encountered a peculiar humanoid creature that resembled a Havaarasi but was twice as tall and exuded a dark power similar to that of a shadowy being. No one had ever seen such a hybrid before, so the king ordered its capture. The creature was named Hendavezune, which meant "exile." It was thrown into the dungeon, and the king observed the being closely for several days, pondering what to do.

On one hand, he could have killed it, as eradicating shadowy beings was his duty. However, he could sense a certain unity with the people of these lands in Hendavezune. Gradually, with each subsequent encounter, the darkness began to take hold of him, and his mind started choosing only malevolent intentions. The people knew that something was happening to their king, but they had grown accustomed to his eccentric displays of power. Even Hantumaulh himself began to experience strange sensations and, in an attempt to resist the darkness, ordered the creature's destruction. However, it couldn't be killed as it kept regenerating, so they decided to put it into a deep slumber, but it looked like purposeless process.

During the entire operation, it came to light that the king not only imprisoned Hendavezune but also deliberately harnessed its power for himself, making it impossible for others to threaten him. When confronted with this revelation, the king didn't deny it and even added that he had no intentions of giving up the throne. He believed that, thanks to the dark power, he would be able to uncover the secret of immortality. Everyone was astonished. Someone who had fought against darkness for years was now using it against the peoples.

A revolt ensued, aiming to overthrow Hantumaulh from the throne. During the battles, some spies infiltrated the dungeons and succeeded in inducing a deep slumber in Hendavezune, causing the ruler to detach from the power. After a grueling battle, he was defeated, and fearing that his power might have made him immortal, they decided to burn his remains and bury them in distant lands.

3.Revenge from Beyond the Grave:

Unfortunately, the darkness that trapped them granted him what he desired in life - immortality. Rising from beyond the grave, he summoned the shadow beings and led them towards the capital. The number of shadow entities far outnumbered the kingdom's forces, though the shadows were not invincible, and the kingdom managed to defend itself for a considerable time. During the final assault, in which Hantumaulh himself participated, they succeeded in breaking down the gates and gaining entry inside.

The undead ruler made his way to the dungeons, where he found the slumbering Hendavezune. He freed her from her chains and then left the kingdom's territories. Enraged, Hendavezune brought even more shadows, leading the kingdom towards utter destruction. The days of the kingdom were numbered, and the undead ruler hadn't been seen in those lands for a decade.
