Wow... this is the final one in the Before I was series... I actually finished something... cool

Probably the most popular Soldier of Purification may I present Slaughter, who's previous name I will actually tell you, her name was once Allena. The name is Celtic it means Fox, I picked this name for two reasons. One in Western mythology Foxes represent the devil, they are seen as evil tricksters who live to steal from humans and bring them misfortune. In Eastern mythology foxes (or Kitsune) are seen as wise intelligent beings, who at times like to play practical jokes on humans, foxes are considered to be messengers from the gods, in particular Inari. (god/goddess, of rice, fertility and worldly success)

Here we see Allena just a few short hours before she transforms and takes Slaughter as her new name, the girl in the picture with her is her sister Meng who will not survive this day, she is spending her last moments pleading with her sister.

Both Allena and Meng were born with out familiars (which is rare but not unheard of) something that other children harass and tease them to no end about. Both Allena and Meng took different approaches to dealing with the teasing, Meng befriended those who were kind and did not tease her and Allena threw herself into her work and adopted a cold exterior. Unfortunately it was only a matter of time before she broke down.

The day she did she killed everyone in her class, everyone who had the misfortune of meeting her on her way home, and finally after a screaming match she killed her parents as well. It was at around this time that Meng arrived home, thinking there had been a horrific break in she was overjoyed to find her sister was alright, but her joy soon turned to horror when she realized her sister was responsible at which point she met her end by Allena's hands.

During the scuffle the gift meng had gotten her sister that day was lost and shattered on the floor (it's in the foreground)

While pleading with her sister Meng left bloody hand prints on Allena's dress. To this day they still bleed through any clothing Allena (now called Slaughter) wears.

Though she will say that she feels nothing, no regret or sadness for murdering her family and all the other people, Slaughter's behavior in certain situations begs to differ.

It is unclear why Allena suddenly destroyed her life and went to the order, but I bet her accidental meeting with the leader of the order may have had something to do with it.
