Description
This is based off an idea by cherriegal. She had a brilliant idea of fantasy Double Dash! characters that really should've been in the game instead of stupid filler characters like Petey, Boo, Toadette, Birdo, the Babies, Bowser Jr., and Waluigi.I give cherriegal credit for this idea for Cackletta and Fawful.
I will soon reproduce more of her ideas and a few of my own and put them all in one large poster image!

Even though i like Petey, King Boo and Waluigi (and Birdo sometimes), i still like this idea very much! I guess Cackletta's voices in the game would be the same cackles and grunts she made in Superstar Saga, and Fawful's would be his extremely high-pitched giggle and shouting "FINK-RATS!" when losing and "I HAVE FURY!" when winning.

I've always wanted M&L/Paper Mario characters to appear in Mario Kart or any of the other non plot-based Mario games, but they never do. Anyway, nice pic! ^^

GREAT idea, and even a kick-ass job on the coloring and design too, but there are still flaws I can find with it. For one, the kart. I know it stems mostly from the fact that there's not much to work with in the way of finding some kind of theme for Cackletta to have her own cart, but except for the big throne and seat for Fawful, it looks like a MKDS Kart with a Beanstar avatar on it... Very simplistic (And besides all that, any idea what Cackletta's special would be?)
Oh, and let's not forget that since EVERYONE has their own cart, Fawful'd have to have his own cart as well... X3

That rocks big time... though if anything I think they should have just added it on top of everything else there, I like all the "filler" characters personally. My team is Wario and Birdo. Great design you've got going.

Oh come now, you think Petey and Boo are REALLY needed? The babies don't even make sense! ANd as for Bowser Jr...he killed off the KOOPLINGS! I loved that group of kids! THEY ALL could have been in it. Ah well....

Personaly, yes, I think having all those characters plus more would have been better. I agree that Petey is a bit dumb, but definately not Boo, Boo's been around awhile now in Mario related games, he has some priority. No, they're not needed, and no some of them don't make sense. But it's a Mario Bros. game which never makes sense anyway. There are characters in there I don't like too, like Toadette (whos first appearance is DD as far as I know), but the focus should be on adding more characters to choose from instead of replacing some or taking some out. They should take everything they have AND add the Koopalings as well as characters from other Mario games. There is NEVER enough to choose from in my opinion.

Be honest, do you cycle through every character? There will be some characters no one will bother to even touch if a selection becomes too huge. So why waste space and animation time on characters no one will use? And yes, Toadette appears only in DD as a filler character just as Waluigi was created in Mario Tennis as a filler. As for Boo, there really never was a KING Boo, but Boos existed. That's like saying Petey's kind existed so he can stay.
I miss Larry, Iggy, Roy, Lemmy, Wendy, Morton J., and Ludwig....

Within my circle everyone plays every character they can get their hands on and get annoyed or bored with a game because they can never have their fill of characters. So personally I don't think it's at all a waste, besides sometimes those "wasted" characters become favorites of some people and the characters they're best with (which is how it works from me 90% of the time in fighting games, I pick and master characters no one touches). A game should have about 30 selectable characters on avarage in my opinion. King Boo has been around since Super Mario World and appeared again in Super Mario Sunshine (and supposedly a few other games too), although he never had the crown in SMW, he was still there. Petey's only been in one game and hasn't been around as long.

In Super Mario World, only Boos and Big Boos are there. There are no King Boos. He only appeared in Sunshine.

Upon replaying Super Mario World, there is a giant Boo boss...but there is no King Boo named. Either you're assuming it's King Boo, or it says it in the ending title....which I have yet to check.

I don't remember if he's called such in the game it's self because it's been awhile since I've played. I know he is in any official strategy guides though, including Nintendo Power which is run by Nintendo.
