Darth Vader, Dark Lord of the Sith and Supreme Commander of the Imperial Military of the Galactic Empire....

Shinji Ikari, Co-Crown Heir of the Ikari-Phenex Clan's Phoenix Imperial Throne, Grand Marshal of the Netherworld Empire & one of the founders of the Crimson Phoenix Empire....

Both have a very odd relationship since while Vader is responsible for overseeing the majority of the Great Jedi Purge, Shinji had been responsible for the Vengeance Wars in the original timeline as well as one of the principle authors behind the apocalyptic Dies Irae Plan before being stopped by Sailor Moon, Naruto Uzumaki and other loved ones.

Despite being on opposite sides in a Post-Project Atonement Era, the old friendships between Anakin Skywalker and Shinji remains so strong that Vader would risk his own life in order to protect Shinji and the latter would often shows up to protect the man who has become what he is now.
