A Memory Crystal is a special gem which is created in order to store the memories of a person or persons in case of emergencies.

Using the very futuristic technology employed by Brainiac, the Memory Crystal are sepcially developed by Washu Hakubi in order to store the histories of people or civilizations.

Shinji Ikari used one large Memory Crystal to download the complete history and lore of Cybertron's Golden Age from the lost starship Proud Star as well as everything about the Chaos Life Equation he had learned in his travels.

During the events of Bloody Rain and the Battle of Kazamagahara, Shinji and his immediate siblings downloaded all of their painful memories into a Purple-Pinkish colored Memory Crystal (shaped like a large Pyramid) before placing it into a safe which is also located in the vacant bedroom of his parents within the equally deserted Ikari-Phenex Family Compound in Konohagakure.

It remaisn hidden for over three years until it was discovered by sheer chance when Hinata Hyuga uncovers the safe while wiping off the heavy dust in the compound.

It was this Memory Crystal which JUMP Force saw the entirety of Shinji & his immediate siblings's painful memories as well as seeing events through a Memory Projector which is so powerful and overwhelming that it left them all numbed and others broken down in tears since none had ever known the depth of suffering Shinji had to go through.

Tsunade Ikari was especially overwhelmed since this is the first time she had seen just how deep the pain Shinji & Takuto had to endure while realizing that she had helped in persecuting them...No thanks to Sanger Phenex, whose own evil deeds are exposed in a second Memory Crystal which Shinji had retrieved from Shibamura's own safe.
