Description
So, I entered this in the Neopets Random Contest (and won 2nd), where the challenge was to draw a Neopet villain's portrait. So, I picked Mr. Krawley, a villain of the Victorian-styled plot "Tale of Woe." I drew him in the style of one of those old "penny dreadful" covers. Penny dreadfuls were those old Victorian-era pulp fiction paperbacks, with stories about people like Jack the Ripper or Sweeney Todd. I figured it'd be appropriate for Krawley. :3All done with Adobe Photoshop CS3, about 4-5 hours.

I loved they way people used to use language then; verbose, grand, and far more complex than needed. They played with the words; language now is a little bare-bones.

Yeah, it's interesting the way language evolves. Now there are a lot more lols and lulz and stuff like that than there used to be. :3

I know; it confuses the heck out of me. All I see is a jumble of letters, scratching my head, and contemplating whether its a cipher, an alien language, or somebodies pet walked across the keyboard.

Well, I made most of my NP a long time ago when I used to play the TCG. I got tons and tons of those rare item codes, so I got my NP that way. Then I wound up just squirreling away a lot of items that turned out to be valuable later. XD

Wow, that's totally cool and sucks that you didn't get first, but 2nd isn't bad.
I love the crosshatching(that the right word?) shading you did on this and you did great on the time line setting. I miss Tales of Woe. Bruno was my favorite.

Yup, 2nd place isn't so bad. Got a nice little item out of it, so all's good. :3 And yup, crosshatching's the right word for it. Or, a bit of crosshatching and a bit of hatching. I think I have a bit of both in there.
