Yay, a new sketchbook cover! My last one was nearly a year old. o_o And holy crap, did this take forever to finish. I don't even remember how many hours I've spent on this, but it'd been in the works for at least a month.Tried something new this time, the distorted perspective. I just kinda' winged it, didn't really know how to make it properly.
Last time I tried to fit in as many of my characters as I could, but this time I just went with my main four because there wasn't that much room to fit them all!Yum, candy!

This. This came out fabulously.
The angle is crazy (and crazy awesome), the setting is fascinating on its own, and the whole thing overflows with detail.
Also, thanks for showing the process and explaining how to change lineart colors! It was fascinating AND helpful!

I really love the perspective here! And all of the expressions are just so perfect. Arak looks the most concerned, but I wonder if he's really just thinking "Oh no! I could be liable for this!" And I think it's funny how ambiguous Paul's expression is. It's not an expression of concern as much as the expression of someone who doesn't quite know how to react. And Drake looks like "This can't end well..." And the pose/perspective for Rantz is just great!
I love the vibrant colors and awesome background. All around, I just love the whole picture.

This is really awesome! I love how creative your themed sketchbook covers always are, and this one has so much action and amazing attention to detail that the viewer can't stop staring at all the different aspects of the picture. I don't know perspective well enough to say whether this is right or not either, but it certainly creates an interesting effect that draws you into the scene because of how the distorted background seems to add to the movement. I love how you put so much detail into all the little objects stocked on the shelves, and the bright candy colors fit the scene perfectly. It's a really striking and fun picture!

Your sketch book covers are so amazing and creative! And the amount of work you put into them is mind blowing! All the different things you tried with this, like the extreme perspective and gradient coloring is really awesome.

Yeah, perspective is tricky, and anatomy is tricky too. It took me quite a few years to get either one of those to any level of comfort, and I'm just now starting to feel really comfortable with it, and that's after four years of art college. It definitely didn't come naturally, it was a LOT of practice!
