Description
(Back to basics)
Obvious Judas is a trope when a character is reveled to be evil along or betray someone. And the audience saw it coming a mile away. Yet the story acts like it's some big twist.
Examples (spoilers ahead but they are pretty obvious)
Played With for The Trope Namer Judas Iscariot. The Bible fault out tells the audience that Judas will betray Jesus and it is mentioned that he used to be a thief. But none of the Disciples suspected him. In fact, when Jesus announced that one of them was going to betray him, each of them doubted themselves more than anyone else.
Gin Ichimaru from Bleach, The only people who were surprised that he was a villain were the people who though that someone this obviously a villain (a Perpetual Smug Smiler who's eyes are always closed with a snake motif that every one is suspicious of) couldn't possibly be a villain.
In the original Judas Contract act from the Teen Titans comic Tera (believe it or not.) As she spends the whole comic being a dick.
Loki in (almost) every story he/(sometimes she) appears in by virtue of being Loki.
Ruber from Quest for Camelot
Evelyn Deavor in Incredibles 2 has the means, motive, and opportunity to pull off the villain's evil plans, and she's frequently shown ominously lurking in the background, standing behind her brother Winston. Her name is basically "evil endeavor". As such, not many people were surprise when she was revealed to be the true identity of the Screenslaver.
Harry Osborn from the Spider-Man Trilogy.
Zig Zaged with Severus Snape in Harry Potter, Harry and all his friends think Snape is evil. But it's not until The Half Blood Prince that he accuracy dose something evil by betraying Aldis Dumbledore. Then it's reveled that it was actually a mercy killing and Voldimort was the one Snape was planing on betraying
In Game Of Thrones/Song Of Fire And Ice:
Petyr Baelish "Littlefinger" doesn't even try to hide his sociopathic and untrust worthy nature and flaut out tells Ned Stark that he shouldn't trust him.
Roose Bolton for Rob Stark.
The Sparrows/Faith Militant, given that they are religious zealots it was only a matter of time until they betrayed Cersei.
Master Xehanort In Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep. Though it's unclear if the audienceis supported to be surprised or not when he's reveled to be evil along, but the in-universe characters are.
