Description
"Once upon a midnight dreary, as I pondered weak and weary..."In this image, Jenny Wren, our ghost girl, goes through a meditative debate over what kind of ghost she is based on all she learned from her mentor Percival... an evil, crazy ghost assigned to mentor her in the S.C.A.R.E. system as penitence for trying to kill her when she was alive without a reaper's permit... versus all she experienced with her living twin brother, Joey. Even the word "raven" is enough to cause debate among the two, as Percival insists on using horror poetry, namely "The Raven, by: Edgar Allen Poe", as a reference on how a ghost should be: an ever lingering reminder of guilt, sorrow, and fear that continues to plague a human long after death, never letting the living forget what happened long enough to find happiness ever again. Joey, on the other hand, claims that poem to be the inspiration for the Teen Titans character Raven: a superhero with a dark past and even darker, more mysterious powers used as a force for good.
JENNY: I get where you are going with this, bro, but I think the Ghost World has a different "Raven" in mind--
JOEY: So did her father, but that didn't stop her from choosing her own path against him.
After much considering both sides of the debate, and years of reviewing the topic, she eventually realizes both males were right on a symbolic sense, even though their idea of the same word were opposites, and honestly it doesn't matter if a soul is an angel, a demon, or even a ghost, they are all the same... they are all ravens: dark and looming, yet in the end, just another bird in the flock soft feathers and all, and she has to take the good with the bad. With that said, Jenny knows that, as a ghost, she doesn't need wings to fly, but decides that when and if she ever ascends for good, she'd want to have black wings instead of white, much like the wings of a raven.
