History:
Capsize wasn't always known as Capsize. Her first name was actually Coriolis. She was born to a very skilled family. Her parents made boats and were very well known for their craftsmanship. From a young age, Capsize was very active and athletic. She'd often go on hunts with her cousin Brine, which made them very close. Capsize was less fond of her cousin Fathom, who was a bit controlling about what she did and was one of the main reasons Capsize didn't always do what she wanted (probably preventing destruction). Capsize had an alright relationship with her siblings. She wasn't very close or distant from Marina or Anchor, both being more concerned about the careers they wanted to pursue. They did, however, play a major role in Capsize learning to fight. Current, Pelagic, and Galliot tried to convince Capsize to be a shipmaker but she had no interest in it.
When Capsize was 15 she first tried to man a small ship by herself. The result was she ended up capsizing the ship and returning to port by swimming. She ended up being ridiculed for it. She tried again a few days later with the same result. She continued this pattern for weeks before people stopped allowing her to take ships out on the water. This pattern also earned her the nickname of Capsize. Her destruction of ships did not reflect well on her family who was well known for their shipmaking. She dealt with the treatment and name-calling for a few months before taking action. Shortly after she turned 16, Capsize (which was an extremely common name for her now) snuck out at night and stole a ship, larger than what she had previously worked with. There were a few witnesses to her crime, her cousins Fathom and Brine among them. Capsize disappeared that night and many believed she had crashed and perished as she did not return for many years. Days after her disappearance, several of the witnesses of her crime were found dead, Fathom among them, but not Brine.
Capsize did struggle for a few weeks out on the open ocean, having a crew of only 1 dragon. She came across Captain Irrawaddy and received help from the elderly Captain. Capsize spent some time working for Captain Irrawaddy in exchange for experience and learning how to be a pirate. Eventually she left and traveled North, where she encountered a family of Northern Shipwreckers, who would become her adopted family. Capsize spent several months with them, learning about the culture of the Northern Shipwreckers. When she left, Capsize had put on some weight as her body was changing to be more similar to a northern Shipwrecker's. She left with a gift as she went to become an actual pirate.
For about a year, Capsize pirated and maintained her ship with a crew of one dragon, herself. She eventually combined with another small fleet of one ship. She stayed for a few months and grew close to the crew. Eventually, she started a mutiny upon the ship that the captain could not stop. Capsize took the Captain's life with her own horns. She then looted the ship and took the crew as her own aboard The Dark Leviathan. A couple of months after having her crew, Capsize got into a heated argument with the first mate. While no physical conflict broke out, the first mate went missing the following night. Eventually Capsize landed in Bilge with her new crew. She was quite displeased to hear a few rumors being spread about the first mate. A few days after leaving Bilge, all of Capsize's crew had disappeared along with several of the cannonballs she had recently gotten.
When she was 18, Capsize visited Hotrock Hollow, the home of the Pirate Queens and base of the Sirens. She arrived without a crew, having recently finished with her second crew. In the city, she came across a Springsinger tattoo artist, Mockingbird. Capsize met Mockingbird in a bar. They started a conversation in which Capsize mentioned her want to get a tattoo. She was surprised to find out Mockingbird was a tattoo artist, despite their multiple tattoos. They offered their services as a tattoo artist and gave Capsize a part of a tune to sing to announce her arrival.The next day Capsize went to the part of the city Mockingbird chose and sang the tune. Mockingbird then came and brought Capsize to their tattoo parlor.
Capsize's first tattoo was very ambitious; a tattoo that would only appear in the dark and would go the entire length of her body, from nose to tail. Her tattoos were designed to look like a lesser bone leviathan. Capsize had gotten the idea after sailing over one of the Blackheads and seeing the fauna found within them. Mockingbird agreed but the tattooing process took quite a few days. Over the days Mockingbird and Capsize discussed multiple things. They became friends over the tattooing process because not talking would have been awkward. Eventually Capsize left again but would seek out Mockingbird for any future tattoos and welcome them upon The Dark Leviathan when they liked.
Over the following several years Capsize rotated through several crews with a few months to herself between the crews. The longest she's had a crew has been a year and a half. Capsize often travels between the warm southern water and the cold northern waters.
Rumors/Reputation:
Rumors are often whispered when Capsize returns to a port with a different crew.
She is sometimes referred to as the Ghost Captain of the Seas. This is because of her habit of returning to ports with a different or no crew. This is not helped by the fact that she has glow in the dark tattoos in a pattern that makes her look like a bone leviathan underwater.
There is slight talk of Capsize trying to become the next Pirate Queen. The reason is unknown. Some believe it's for her own power. Some think it's to hide something. In the Drifting City there are rumors that Capsize is trying to become Pirate Queen because of her treatment when she first manned a ship. Perhaps she's trying to prove her background false. Perhaps it's to get back at the dragons that gave Capsize her name, but why would she become Pirate Queen to get back at the dragons that gave her her legendary name? But these are all rumors.
When Capsize is referred to by her actual name (by her families) dragons do not think they're talking about Capsize.
The practices aboard The Dark Leviathan are a mystery. It seems as though Captain Capsize collects from multiple cultures and adds to her ship.

Mockingbird / Carver - Mockingbird is a friend of Capsize. Mockingbird is the dragon, a Springsinger, that tattooed Capsize. Capsize always seeks out Mockingbird to get a new tattoo. She refers to them by Carver when searching to get a new tattoo.
Galliot (father) - Alive - One of Pelagic's mates. Works with Pelagic to make ships.
Pelagic (Mother) - Alive - Has 2 mates: Galliot and Starboard. Works with Galliot to make ships.
Starboard (father figure) - Alive - one of Pelagic's mates. Trader.
Anchor (brother) - Alive - Currently works as a Siren.
Marina (half sister) - Alive - Lives with Pelagic and Galliot. Works as a bodyguard in the Drifting City.
Current (half brother) - Alive - Worked with Galliot and Pelagic to make ships. Moved to Seagarden for a calmer life where he could still perform his skill of shipmaking.
Seiche (half sister) - Deceased - Capsize's youngest sibling, who only lived for a couple of years before dying from disease at the age of 7.
Fathom (cousin) - Deceased - lived with Galliot and Pelagic for several years. Cause of death unknown. Witnessed Capsize steal a ship to run away. Was found dead a few days later.
Brine (cousin) - Alive - Lives with Galliot and Pelagic. Very supportive of Capsize when she was around. One of few dragons to witness Capsize running away but didn't say anything. A con artist. Believed to still be in contact with Capsize and giving her information about parts of Shipwrecker territory.
Ice Floe (adopted mother) - Alive - Capsize lived a few months with Ice Floe's family of Northern Shipwreckers. Storyteller and explorer, she was the lead of the family.
Sigu (adopted father) - Alive - Ice Floe's mate. Hosted Capsize for a few months. Hunter with Taagluk.
Taagluk (adopted brother) - Alive - Neutral bordering positive relationship with Capsize. Hunter with Sigu.
Nunavait (adopted sister) - Alive - positive relationship with Capsize. Carver. One of the main reasons for Capsize's specific interest in art.
Capsize has a large family of related and adopted dragons.
Extra:
Not a fan of spicy due to her time with her adopted Northern Shipwrecker family. Enjoys rum and drinks.
Capsize's actual name is unknown to all but her family.
Capsize visits the tropic south and cold north enough that her body has a physique that's a blend of Northern and Southern. Her body is thicker than a Southerner's but less than a Northerner's. Her wings are still functional for flight, though not for very long.
Accessories: Several gold/silver piercings along fins, wings, and ears. Her tongue is pierced, the piercing is adorned with a black pearl. Has a gold band/ring on each horn. Rings on several of her claws. Occasionally wears a black pirate hat with iridescent black feathers and the stitched emblem of a lesser bone leviathan (the emblem is also on the sails of The Dark Leviathan). Glow in the dark tattoos that make her look like a lesser bone leviathan. A necklace adorned with teeth, bones, and the skull of a penguin (a gift from her adopted Northern Shipwrecker family).
