Description Hey everyone! Another small story just to provide some context of what happens with some of the characters during other chapters. And in this case we have something taking place shortly after chapter six, so I ask you to read chapters 1-6 for context (If you don't plan on reading the story that's completely fine, I just ask that you skip this post, as its more of a bonus for those who are in the loop)

aaaand here is the chapter select  to go through the chapters, this story also covers events from the prequel comic though it's not required for you to read it to understand what's going on.

Alright, that's all the introduction. Time to get on with the story.

Dr. Krankcase had spent his afternoon the same way he had been for years, operating and creating his own machinery in the Skylanders Academy. Though this was interrupted by a strange small pink dragon. Apparently, he was a Skylander. Though he never got the dragons name... The creature asked him about some sort of female Evilikin, which fought a friend of the dragons.... There was only one project that came to mind when he was asked about this, and he didn't even know if he was thinking about the right thing. But one thing he knew, what he created was dangerous. A machine he created many years ago from a time he lives in regret of. A plan he thanks the ancients he was talked out of, creating an Evilikin powerful enough to kill the Skylanders by themselves, which he wanted to make an army of. If he remembers correctly, he only made one of these units as a prototype, which he left in a lab... Too proud of this machine to actually shut it down permanently, only putting it on "sleep mode". He'd forget about the machine once he was trapped by the Skylanders... And he is now in immediate regret of not shutting it down.
But one thing he was confused by, the machine didn't kill anyone apparently. Which did not add up. He built something with the intention of killing a Skylander... How would it leave someone in a fight alive? He assumed for the best and thought this wasn't actually his work, perhaps someone inspired by his more sinister work and wanted to make an evil fighting robot based on the Evilikin... As, many have taken inspiration from his work in the past. He used to be flattered by this. Your work being imitated is a sign of it's value. But he now realizes his work inspired people to pursue villainry....

Regardless of if the Evilikin was created by him or not, he had to make sure this machine machine was still in its lab. And if it is, he will have it destroyed once and for all. So it won't be given the opportunity to harm anyone... The mere thought of it being too late to deactivate such a machine shook his soul... He's already trying to figure out what he would do if the machine was released... Even in his level of knowledge he can't think of anything.

He'd arrive at the factory which contained the lab his invention was built in. He hasn't been here in years, and neither has anyone. It was easy to tell. Overgrown grass, some plants growing around houses left there.... It's seen better days. The land was not originally one of his factories. Before he came along six years ago, it was a village built by a well-known villain. The village being populated by friendlier wooden creatures which were inspired by his evil wooden machines. Dr. Krankcase tore down most of the village, and built a factory for his evil robots on top of it. But also leaving one spot for a lab.. The lab he built his devastating beacon of destruction in. Although Dr. Krankcase views his evil days as something to regret... He was impressed by his older ingenuity. Revisiting his older machine, something he views as the peak of his work... Was almost bittersweet for him. He felt bad destroying it. But his hate for when he was evil was stronger than his care for the robot. He'd walk along a train track leading into the lab, but stopped dead in his tracks to see the doors to the lab were already wide opened. Due to their size and weight of the doors, it would be impossible for something natural to open these. It had to be a person... And even that outcome was something he hoped for. He'd hold one of his goo-guns in-hand, he found it hard to keep himself moving. He is aware of this machines emotional complexity, and how he programmed it to only respond to the doom raiders, and their evil intentions....

But he is no longer a Doom Raider, and his intentions are no longer evil... How is he going to talk to this machine? What is it going to think of him? Is he even safe to go near it?

He'd walk in fear, but his hope is that his rejected Evilikin would understand, as long as it came from his creator... Though, if this machine of his was in fact released, that would mean he wouldn't have to worry about being ambushed by anything. As his mechanical demon would have killed anything entering the lab.

As he walked through the doors a horrid smell filled his nostrils, it was unlike any scent he used for his "stinkocity", he could tell it wasn't simply by the fact he wasn't used to such a smell... He heard high-pitched buzzing, it must have been flies.... And this alone told him everything.

The machine was released, and she killed whatever was in here.

Walking further into the lab he'd lower his gun and put his hands up, he almost expected the robotic demon to be waiting for him in the lab, so he wanted to show no harm... As the wrong move from him could be devastating. Strangely, when he walked further he found none such machine... Just an empty green glow from the pod she was kept in... Which was even more terrifying to him, to his horror he now knows the Evilikin he created has escaped, and could be anywhere in Skylands....

He walked further, glancing over at some papers which had shown the name of this machine he built.

"Wooded devil riot prototype" and in some finer text, it would state the shortened name would be Timber, or just "wooded devil". This sparked a few memories for him, he was reminded of the day he showed this to Wolfgang... Which makes him think... Wolfgang is the only person who knows of this machine, unless the Wooded Devil makes a name for herself... But Wolfgang would most certainly freak out if he found out about this... So he tells himself to only inform Wolfgang if he absolutely needs to, a decision he is already aware he may regret in the future. He'd walk towards the green glow, trying to find where the buzzing was coming from, but at the end of a table... He soon found his answer...

There was an elf. Pale skin, eyes that were losing colour... And most disgustingly, flies swarming around a sliced open belly, which flowed out the mans organs. Krankcase gagged at the sight of this. It was now without question, it was absolutely from the machine he built. Only the Wooded Devil would be so merciless with a victim... He was thankful the elf was dead... He could tell from context clues that the elf was what must of released Timber.. And the doctor would of wanted to kill that man for it himself... But his machine still gave them the punishment they deserved, one of the few fortunate things to come out of all of this.

Dr. Krankcase would spend time in the lab, trying to observe for... Any clues of where she'd be... Very little luck. He only knows one thing now, that he needs to find Timber himself, by the odd chance he programmed Timber to be loyal to him in event of him going good... He needs to talk his machine out of all this. Terrified at the thought of confronting her already... But where can he find leads. He supposes that the dragon he met should have more information.. But... The dragon never told him his name, or the name of the dragons friend, or where the friend was... He's going to need to do some detective work and find these people, they might be the only leads he'll be able to find.
