I found him outside my old apt 3 years ago, right before we had that awful winter. We had like 12 feet of snow for a whole month. He's the first cat I've adopted on my own, at first I was kind of freak out about it, I don't know why, I've had lots of pets growing up. But Cody was the first one I was raising on my own, if that make any sense. But he turn out great, best cat I've ever had. I take him with me whenever I travel, so he doesn't even bat any eye when in the car. I took him on a 3 hr drive in the summer and he just sat back and watch the sky go by. I also think he might be part dog, he love water, till the point I have to ask everyone to put the toilet seat down or he'll play in it. And I taught him how to play fetch. He'll bring me a toy and cry at me till I throw it and he'll bring it back. If I have guests over he'll rotate who he'll bring it back to. No one gets left out. He also rotates sleeping with me and my roommate, I work late nights so he'll go to bed with my roommate around 8pm but he'll move to the coach to wait for me to get home around 12am, then when I go to sleep he'll go to bed with me, but when my roommate wakes up in the morning around 5am to head out to work he's always sleeping right next to her head.
