Ah I was wondering, what do you adjust to make it closer to the original? My scanner makes my drawings look really light and the colors really light too!

Usually - levels and curves. If it's not enough - hue/saturation, selective colour, colour balance, maybe anything else.

Do you have a big scanner? Because isn't B5 pretty big?
Mine is printer/scanner, the scanner can do U.S. Letter size and a little longer but nothing more.

Does using a watercolor pencil help with detail? (I have some but I think they're really old and cheap.. don't know if they're still useful.)

Watercolour pencils helps me to trace a lines from sketch to a watercolour paper instead of graphite pencil. I don't use it for details, colouring or anything except the lines. ATM at least.

Ah I see, that makes sense! With watercolor pencil it would be easier to use because water would make it a little lighter!
Does graphite get in the way or is it just a preference thing?

Lines done with watercolour pencil doesn't need so much corrections after tracing it and allows me do more corrections while I'm painting.

берёшь, рисуешь и СТРАДАЕШЬ. вот как это обычно делается.
