Description

Sooo this one probably needs a bit of explanation. These characters are three fic OCs summoned to the setting of Thousand Roads's recently-concluded Blacklight Eternal RP campaign to defend a PMD world. While there, they were imbued with several powers, including the Shadow type (by way of Dark Matter) and the Radiant type (a combination of Necrozma light and Voice of Life energy). This combination is called Blacklight, and it allows them to unleash their true inner selves for combat.

Incineroar Starr, from my own The Legendarian Chronicles. She's something of a heel who eventually joins the heroes, and she's pretty fixated on truth and lies, and determined to remain fully aware of the truth of her dark past. As such, her legendary patron is Reshiram. Her unleashed colours are derived from the shiny reshi palette, to indicate a more heroic aspect in the late campaign.

Ninetales Astrid, from theGOAT's Gravity of Perspective. She's got a call of the void so strong it may as well be a deathwish, and is drawn inexorably towards the unknown, no matter the risks, in search of becoming wholly herself. As such, her patron is Kyurem. Her unleashed form is a gelatinous body capable of channelling the enormous combined energies of herself and the rest of the trio, and even use self-destructive moves, without suffering serious injury.

And Luxray Brisa, from unrepentantAuthor's What's Past is Prologue. She's the daughter of a human/partner duo who saved her world, and has spent her life wishing to use her overwhelming power for heroic efforts, as a paragon of the frontier rangers. As such, her patron is Zekrom. Her unleashed form makes her a Zeraora hybrid, representing her desire to become an aspirant legendary protector of worlds, yet still remain herself.

Perhaps the best part of all this is the fact that all three characters came from different fics and weren't remotely designed to fit any kind of theming, and yet we somehow ended up with the three powergamers of the campaign playing a trio of fire-ice-lightning strikers that magically had character arcs centering around truth/ideals/void. You couldn't make that fit better if you were trying.
