i just had to make something about the 'lack-of-Sombra'
im not complaining, i thought the new episode(s) were awesome! but the spoilers (even if i didn't see much of em) made it less interesting
but if your villain gets less screentime than GAK...
i had this idea and changed it a lot to make Twilight look less... 'bitchy'. for the people who now think that i think that Twi is not nice, i love Twi and i think she's an awesome and nice pony
i wasn't sure about the style i was gonna use for this comic, so i went with what i did for 'gak.png'

King Sombra was the evilest villain in this series BY FAR... but it's true he could have done with a little more screentime... or a LOT.

On the other hand, I don't think the lack of screentime he had really made the episode bad at all. He's the kind of looming threat that's always present even when it's not on screen, and he can't really be battled. Unlike Discord, he doesn't hold back, either. That means there's really no choice except keeping him out - when he's let in he covers the whole empire in his evil in a matter of seconds.

I am campaigning across Bronydom to spread the view that Sombra was like Sauron from LOTR. They were a Bad Ass Ruler in the flashbacks, then after being defeated they took on Shadow Forms and manipulated events while the Protagonists raced against time to find/destroy a object of power before they could return and cover the world in darkness.

The most boring and generic villain I have ever seen. He's more of a blank slate.
After this episode, I'm thinking either Megan McCarthy is a shit writer, or they're planning a story arc this season, and will explain Sombra's backstory later on.

Yeah, if they want to fuck the writer over, and I don't see the production team making such a major and fundamental error.
There were many other scenes they could have cut or shortened. Or they could have made it a three-parter. Cutting plot-crucial scenes make no sense.
So the only other explanation is an arc.

Nice. I wonder if there was suposed to be more scenes with him but had to cut it out. He didnt have much personality and his purpose was kinda vague at best. Still a great episode though
