Sometimes, Takai just has to wait for her size to go back to something more manageable... Sometimes, just standing still and trying not to cause a commotion is a challenge all on it's own. This is one of those times.I was doodling this morning and went looking for a background reference, and then in the end, I decided to remove the lines and see how it'd look just doing some light photo manipulation for the background instead! (Because I realized the alternative was drawing 9,000,000 buildings) XD
For reference: Central Park is 0.5 miles wide, and 2.5 miles long.

I remember last year when he was doing that Takai series, my eyes were bugged out thinking that he had a scale of 1-5MΒ and I thought it stood for miles. and I kept going "holy crap, she's bigger than the Vatican!" xDΒ Β Β I forgot what the measurement was, but she was definitely smaller in that instance.Β

Most of the time I'm down to draw backgrounds. But zoomed out to the point where every building in NYC is visible? No thanks. I think my limit on buildings is around 12. After that I start to question my life choices.

I really like the cross between cell shaded art and a photo, it looks good. Everything down to the little trees near her shoes really places her in the world.Β

I'm really glad you like it! That part was something I knew I had to do... If I didn't cut out the trees so she was 'interacting' with them, then it just wasn't going to work as an image.

That is stunning, it's so beautiful the way of Takai standing perfectly in the center of the park trying her best not to cause too much damage. Plus seeing the landscape and how the pretty it looks from her inside that small space, just leave a person breathless at the sight of it
