Upon Jackson’s advice for a possible emotional support animal Lexi and her parents went to Mildred’s pet emporium. Once stepping into the critter filled place Lexi’s eyes sparkled in awe seeing all the cute pets running around. Even spying a beautiful green veneberra with flowers around her body. “Keep your eyes off little vine, she's not for sale.” A cold feminine voice said

“S-Sorry she’s just very pretty.” Lexi let’s out a bit frightened by Mildred’s presence. Her father comes to her side to ease her anxiety. While her mother says “Hello Mildred, we come today to buy a pet to help our daughter with her mental health.”

“So you’re the family Jackson said that would be coming today. Alright, take a look around.” She replied with an annoyed tone.

Lexi’s father gives a nod for her to go walk around. Smiling Lexi gives a nod and starts walking around the building looking at the different pets. All of them were very cute to her but so far none really had that special connection to her. The confidence she had started to deflate as none of the pets wanted to come close to her “None of them seem to like me..” she sighs turning back toward her parents still talking with Mildred well, her mother mainly asking questions on how to take care of the certain pet Lexi would choose. Though Mildred looked like she would rather be anywhere else than that conversation she did answer the questions Lexi’s mother had.

Then a small sound was heard behind her. Turning toward the direction of the noise she saw a pair of eyes, one orange and the other green. Out of the shadows came a moppet. Lexi’s heart fluttered as moppets were her favorite out of all the pets. Bending down she holds her hand out to the moppet, the rest of the moppet’s body comes out from the shadows having Lexi give a small gasp seeing that it had back legs! ’I’ve never seen one with back legs before.’ She thought to herself.

The moppet came up to her and rubbed its head against her hand. Smiling Lexi begins to pet it more and soon the moppet gets in her lap. Happiness overcame Lexi and she gently hugs the little feline on her lap. Hearing the moppet purr and it’s tail wagging happy. Noticing Mildred comes over to them with Lexi’s parents following behind.

“I see you found one of my special moppets. She seems to like you but will you be able to afford her?” She asks mostly toward her parents.

Lexi’s mom nods “I’m sure whatever it is we’ll be able to pay for it.” Lexi’s father takes out a bag filled with coins. Mildred takes the bag “Hm. This should be enough.”

Looking down at the moppet in her arms Lexi cuddles her whispering “Welcome to our family.”

Lexi has obtained her pet! I'm still very happy that I was able to get this adorable moppet.

Now since she has her emotional support pet, Mocha will mostly if not always be with Lexi. So if anyone wants to draw Lexi Mocha will have to be with her. Anyway I hope you enjoyed this short story.
