Fun fact!

On this page, we are introduced to Akane! She would eventually become the main protagonist in this series, but is this version she served as the “damsel-in-distress.”
I remember making major edits to the dialogue and facial expressions for this page and some of the following due to complaints from my assistant. The original dialogue from the guards was creepy and Mooneye stepped in to “white knight” for Akane. As for what “that place” Akane was referring to, I’ve completely forgotten what it was. It was most likely something my assistant came up with.
Another tidbit about the guards, their jackets were based off the ones worn by the Shinsengumi, a group of samurai who fought for the Shogunate during Japan’s Bakumatsu era.
