Description Drizzt and Cattie-Brie enjoying a moment in the mountains of Icewind Dale. This was a birthday gift for Karolina, and a thank you gift for letting me scan everything at her house. *Big Hugs!* Pencil crayon and white acrylic on paper, except for the freckles which are photoshop because my stupid scanner wouldn't pick them up. *Kicks scanner* (September 2004)

Feel free to rip it apart; but don't just tell me "it sucks."

Cattie is really pretty.

For some reasoon she reminds me of a disney animation character, lol. It must be the style.

And I live the Drizzt.

The blacker the better when it comes to Drizzt and other Drow!!

You have this great use of color... lots of people are afraid of it, but you charge right in, kudos to you! As for serious critique, here goes:
-I see a lot of Disney in your work, which is a great start. Keep working on that style, but also work towards developing your own slant to it once you get comfortable.
-Drizzt's skin is pretty flat black, and you lose a lot of details. It looks like you have the light (at least from looking at Cattie-brie) coming from his right and a little behind. Yes, his skin is black, but it also has highlights and lighter portions. See if you can find pictures of really really dark people of African descent and see how their skin reacts to light.
-Draw from life. Your background is a bit loose, and you can find excellent snowy mountainous shots almost everywhere. Pick up some magazines and draw the models and scenery. Go outside and draw scenery, do quick sketches of people when you're outside. Just draw as much as you can. This will help so much in building your mental reserves so that when you want to draw something out of your head, you have more experience to draw from.

Keep going! You're doing great so far! Just don't give up!
