Description Hey finally down the painting method for this force. It's the first time I've relied primarily on inks vs. highlighting to get most of the gradients. Washes make everything appear worn, as opposed to shiny glinting edges; It's a nice change. This guy lacks still lacks his basing, but I've lent my modeling supplies to someone else... hopefully I'll get them back soon. Although it does make me realize they would look pretty good with a snow base/blued gravel base or greyish brown dirt + snow if they needed an alternative. But for now I'll stick with the martian terrain I've used for the space marine force, but plus some yellow/red/orange modelling shrubs I've recently purchased.

So the method, in case I forget, is: Sepia ink all over, followed by purple ink in the recesses and shadowed areas, maybe some brown ink there too. Purple/bronze added, brown ink added to bronze, purple to purple. Follow up with stones and highlights like power blades or heat exchanger fins (yes I decided to make the fins on the back of the wraithlords and wraithblades glow slightly with heat... I figured the eldar must have put them there for some purpose other than decoration.) Base is black, with dark red/red/orange added consecutively, with brown grass and warm colored shrubs added to finish it off.

I'm pretty pleased with it. The aspects, of course, will be painted uniquely as required by each different shrine. But the bulk of the force, including their dark eldar allies (I'm planning on making a corsair themed force) will rock the bone/sepia scheme.
