A buffalo gave Scar/Taka his scar but the comics aren't canon but still I like to think they are semi canon it makes sense for a buffalo to give Scar/Taka his scar not a tiny cobra! Like you said it is for kids which I don't know why I watch it tbh maybe for the songs eh who knows. Now for the lion I think he is Zira's father or the selfish lion which again the selfish lion isn't canon because of the comic books people think the lion is Kovu father which doesn't match up to me. He would be dead or to old to have Kovu he is grandfather if he is Zira's father hell we don't know if he is related to them or the selfish lion.
