Although they didnโt know each other well, Rue was born in the same village as Luci: Souritown, a place known for the sightings of mice. Rue had a special connection with these small creatures that no one else had, but when her hometown was burned to the ground by an unknown arsonist the mice went even further into hiding and she became very alone without them or her family. To her knowledge, Rue was the only survivor of the attack on her town. When she discovers Luci, however, her views start to change and she realizes perhaps the mice and their magic are still out there as wellโฆ
