Usually, films that stray super-far away from the source material tend to be complete disaster. But the 1994 film THE MASK is probably the one example I can think of where everyone is okay with a lightweight and comedic take on a completely deranged comic book. Bizarre!
But with that said, I do enjoy this movie. The zany CGI still holds up, Jim Carrey is a lot of fun, and it's just an overall good time. But with comic book movies still going strong, I'd love to see a big-budget take on the original comic. I can't even imagine how crazy it would be!

A guy named GerbayTV did an awesome Mask fanfilm which combines stuff from the comics and the movie: An adaptation worth to take in count since Hollywood producers are acting as douchbags recently.

Just yesterday my brother found the toys he had when he was a child, and among these there were two of The Mask.
