I do not recall those ads from when I was a kid, but I've seen enough fanart on here to know him when I see him! It's amazing what businesses use to advertise to people, but well done here as well!

I used to work at a McDonald's during college in the early 2000s and this guy was on the back wall in the dining area, I vaguely remembered him from decades ago.

I vaguely remember the late '90s Mac Tonight commercials...What I remember most, though, is that they actually had a NASCAR car that carried a Mac Tonight-themed paint scheme (with Mac himself on the hood of the car) for a few races back in 1997 and 1998! Me having been a fan of racing virtually all my life, I actually have a diecast of the Mac Tonight car...
