For a random flash of inspiration, you did very well.
I noticed this in a friend's favorites, and it was eye-catching enough to merit another look.
The contrasting greyscale of the girl's world and explosive color of ours seem to be bleeding through, and the way her expression speaks of longing awe makes it feel like she's trying to touch our world from hers, making patterns of color like fingers over fogged glass...
