Actually I have Hoya Polarized HD and Tiffen ND 0,9 has strong vignetting on 17 with Hoya and quite small with Tiffen filter (on Tiffen it is easy to avoid it). Usually I solve it by two ways. Or using 40 mm instead or just composing accordingly on 17 and crop central part after. Hoya HD quite thin filter and I think that of course it is possible to find thinner CPL filter but it is a lot of pain with them (as example it is impossible to use standart lens cap and it is difficult to remove filter from lens) as addition I can say that polarized filter on wide angle lens is working not so good because irregular effect of polarized filter in picture. I use it carefully but it is better to use it on other lenses.

Usually we use wide angle lenses for landscapes and waterscapes. So the problem is that using ND filters we must use middle rage angles. I have similar problems with HOYA Polarizer PRO1.

It is nescessary to use very thin 5 mm filters. I have such one from Tiffen and it is very good. Or it is possible to buy something like Cokin filters which square form. I have bought one but didn't get it yet.
