Hello Chris,

Correct there is an entry fee for $25 per two pieces of art for the exhibition. My note was an invitation to submit your work and to share an exhibition opportunity where your art would shine.

I hope you will consider submitting. If not, I understand. Again, you have incredible work and I think the gallery would provide you greatl exposure.

Hi! I wanted to let you know that I featured this piece of art in a news article called, Take Action! Keystone XL Pipeline , which is about the tar sands in Alberta, Canada and how we should take action to stop the installation of an extensive oil pipeline that will destroy a mass of land larger than the United Kingdom!

Please take the time to look at the article, and I will be supremely overjoyed if you also help spread the word! Thank you!

Well done, but I have to tell you the first thing that came to mind...she's putting a hand over a cooling tower and the only thing that comes out of a cooling tower is damp air. That plume is just water vapor, not 'pollution'.

It's a cute picture but that fact would probably kill the message for the astute observer.

Chris-Lamprianidis In reply to jpaulroe [2011-10-16 21:43:44 +0000 UTC]

I know it. My 10 years old son know it too. For the astute observers and other ordinary people i suggest this --> [link] but for the artists i suggest the current. Have you ever listen about artistic license? This is symbolic not realistic neither photojournalism.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

jpaulroe In reply to Chris-Lamprianidis [2011-10-17 01:41:51 +0000 UTC]

No need to get defensive...I wasn't trying to put you down! It's a great concept, very well done and I certainly do like the picture. I was just pointing out one aspect of the work that stood out for me, even as I was enjoying it.

I think that making the accusation that astute observers are "ordinary people" and not "artists" is a bit harsh. I also think that making the differentiation between "artists" and "ordinary people" in such a negative and accusatory way could come across as egotistical. You're an artist, so I'm sure you know that art is subjective. It is always open to interpretation and it will always be seen in different lights depending on the observer. To imply that someone is not artistic simply because they shared a differing perspective on an otherwise stunning and wonderful picture is...well...not nice. I still think it's a great pic!

Thank you and keep up the good work!

Thousands of people have seen this photo. About 7 or 10 people said "wrong tower". Ok that's true but i don't find it a constructive comment. But this is only my appraisal. And please accept my apologies for my egotistical style. I don't usually act on this way.

A well made, timely, and ingenius statement about the dangers of nuclear energy. Congratulations on your winning submission. The quote from the movie, the Matrix, is perhaps true, unfortunately.
