Description
The GUARDIAN Submachine gun of choice, the G9-27A2 was drafted alongside the GUARDIANs in 2404. Originally a hybrid of a M96 and a HK-85, the G9-27A2 went through many development stages before its' current incarnation was finalized in 2781.The G9 generally has excellent stopping power anywhere between 200 and 300 meters on target. It is prefered for close to mid-range combat, which is not the prefered distance for Special Forces anyway.
The G9-27A2 fires the 7.62x25mm subsonic round, which travels slower than the speed of sound. The major advantage to this is that if it were coupled with a suppressor, the discharge would be virtually silent as there is no sonic boom following every discharge.
The G9 is also extremely versitile. It can be changed depending on what mission it needs to be used for. The model pictured above is modified with a scope and suppressor to take out enemies silently over a distance.
Because it is used only for Commonwealth forces, the G9 is not seen anywhere outside of UN controlled space
Cartridge Used: 7.62x25mm Kommaro
Effective Range: 300m
Maximum Range: 500m

How come you make such awesome guns in PMG? ;__;

Well, I guess it's something of a gift, plus I have a friend who comes up with the weirdest gun creations, so I have some outside influence!

Oh BTW when will you reveal the winners of the contest.

I need more entries. If I don't get very much by the end of the month, I might cut down the number of entries to five.

Nice gun. It looks like a Spec Ops team would like. Um... I'f just like to point out that the round would make this an assault rifle. 7.62x39mm is a rifle round. The 7.62x22mm or the 7.62x25mm are the pistol rounds.

Bah. I shall fix this at once.

That's better. Before you had a ful 1.4 cm of powder extra, that's a lot of propellant for an SMG.

For a supersonic perhaps. But a subsonic wound would have less propellant in the first place, right?

A subsonic round can either have less powder or a bigger slug. All that matters is the size of the casings. 7.62x39 mm is big enough to be a super sonic round, with a big slug. The 9mm is also supersonic, with less powder and a smaller slug. The .45 ACP is a subsonic round even though it has more powder in it's casing than a 9mm because it fires a much larger slug. It's all physics.

So a larger slug means that more powder would be required to get it above the speed of sound is what you're saying.

Exactly.
More powder = more stored energy = greater explosive force acting on the slug.
where as
Bigger slugs = more mass = more inertia = more force required.
It's all physics, my area of expertise.

OK, OK. So the best way to go would be to use a larger round because then it would require more explosive force to get it supersonic, meaning it's easier to keep it subsonic.

That and the fact that a bigger round will give you more KE and more stopping power.

as i asked before, could you make the MA37 from Reach? nice gun. maybe it should have full-auto settings.

I actually tried to make the MA37. It was very difficult and there would be a lot of shapes involved.
