Description
He is Gustavo Fring played by Giancarlo Esposito from a tv series called Breaking BadThe reference photo really captured his personality, so I tried to achieve the same effect in my drawing.
I made this drawing nearly half a year ago, I am still quite happy with it, especially the eyes.
This drawing took about a week to complete
I used 4B and B pencils and an eraser
I hope you like it!

wow. just... wow. extraordiary realism in textures i thought this might have been a photo from the thumbnail! the glasses are completely transparent yet you can tell they are refracting his eyes slightly... this is spectacular. and the subject matter is awesome (can't wait for the next season!!!)

EXCELLENT!! how did you do the skin textures? im studying it trying to figure it out, it's one effect ive been wanting to achieve with my drawings...do you use a special tool of some sort or just tons of patience?...it looks wonderful!

Thank you very much!
It takes a lot of patience to create the skin texture, I used my 4b and b pencils, and an eraser to create some highlights. I also didn't blend much at all, I find that drawing without blending can sometimes give a more realistic skin texture.
I hope this helps!

thank you for the tips im a detail person, i love detail...you are very very talented, Im hoping to improve my own drawings as well, just learned about embossing to achieve the highlight effect on hair, like the little stray white hairs in a mass of dark hair, using an emboss tool or a crochet hook on bristol paper really creates excellent hair details..especially for sandy blonde type hair appearance. and it's fun...lol....keep up the great work!!
