As Bowser's army retreated, the sun started setting and everyone was celebrating for Team Mario saving the Mushroom Kingdom... again. As Mario was about to join Peach, Luigi, and Toadsworth at the castle after Sonic and Tails left for Mobuis, something bright caught Mario's eye. It was a magnificent view, for Mario at least. He was curious enough to walk towards it until Luigi called him out, telling him is he coming with the others or what. As soon as he yelled out, the light disappeared and snapped Mario back into reality. He didn't what was causing that light to appear, there weren't any light sources there, he thought. But it wasn't too important to him so he went on to join the rest. Chances are that, that thing was a Kingdom Fragment or something else, but you know.
