Description
You can tell by the title that the next guy I wanted to draw was a gryphon; a mythological creature compromised of an Eagle and a lion combined together. And like the rest of the anthros that I have drawn, it's already becoming a pattern for me to add cigars to their mouths, but maybe that is because I wanted to start practicing with drawing anthropomorphic fathers as the first steps I'm taking at drawing furries in a manner that goes with my comfort zone.Meet Herb (short for Herbert); some big fun loving guy who is more kind-hearted than the rest of the anthros I drew mainly because I thought that trait suits him better. He may be subject to change like altering the shape and form of how I drew him, but either way, I did have some fun drawing him, especially considering the fact that I might've drawn his wings correctly, given that it was my first time drawing them. They too, might be subject to change if it's needed.
Unlike Wesley, who is an Eagle, Herb’s wings are on his back (Wesley can sprout his wings from his arms, but with age and weight, they are no longer effective at making him fly), since Gryphons walk on all fours, it made sense for me to give him wings as a result.
I also wanted to emphasize on why he’s holding an ice cream cone. While avians cannot consume dairy as far as I know. Because of this, I thought that gryphons, who are half-avians, cannot consume dairy either. Hence why I imagine Herb is lactose intolerant but he’s oblivious to it due to his light-hearted attitude. And if you're wondering why he's shirtless, it's also because I wanted to show the tuft of feathers he has on his chest, but I will, too, eventually think of an outfit for him; I believe it might be easy for me to come up with his clothes given his personality.
