How do you make chat emoticons, like from scenes of a show? :3

This is how i make gifs:
1- I download the episode or video that has the scene that i want;
2- Then i go to Movie Maker and crop just the scene that i need;
3- Transform into a gif, crop into a perfect square (when it's possible) and rezise to 50x50 using sites around the internet.
I use this site to transform the video to gif and resize: en.bloggif.com/
And I use this one to crop: www.online-image-editor.com/ (if you resize in this one the gif gets really, really bad quality)
This one: ezgif.com/ is really good too, you can make everything at once, but I don't know if its me or something but i think the quality of the gif gets worse when I use it...
I'm 10000000000% sure thats is not even close to the easiest way to make gifs... but is my way XD
