Not really a specific scene from my new novel, The Phoenix and the Nightingale, but I imagine that spying on little unknowing Kasia is a regular activity for King Kazimierz (or Kazik, if you prefer pet names).

I just want to make this clear, that the story is a fictional romance that takes place around the 1400s and is both a love story and a parody of famous Polish historical events. (ex. Hints to famous battles, the Winged Husaria, culture, and much more!)

It revolves around King Kazimierz and his undying love for one of his maids, Kasia. However, politics, titles, and even wars between neighboring countries hinders his chances of being with her, especially since the kingdom is in desperate need of a royal heir, to which a lowly maid cannot provide.

It's a story with both action and touching moments, and I can't wait to start posting the drafts up here! I also will be writing a children's book version, called The Poppy Maid, which will be illustrated as well For now, though, enjoy some character sketches for the up-coming and original novel, The Phoenix and the Nightingale!
