Description Planet Menir's only inhabitants are bacteria known as menirophiles.
Menirophiles live worldwide, anywhere from the planet's sparse lakes to within icebergs and underground. They are prokaryotes, and while they are carbon-based like us their biology is fundamentally different from us. They are purple in color because of the photosynthetic molecule retinal, which is important to their survival as it helps reflect off extraneous ultraviolet radiation entering the atmosphere. They also most importantly nee hydrogen peroxide in order to prevent themselves from freezing.
