Description
BATIM vs FNAF*Major antagonists of 2010’s indie horror series which actively dissect our childhoods into something terrifying. Also both series revolve around the trapped souls of those effected by a shady company, in which you have to try and relieve their suffering by breaking them out of a cycle of torment.
*Their original forms (Toon Bendy and Springbonnie) were Entertainment juggernauts. Despite their designs having to be renewed multiple times, they became iconic aspects of Joey Drew Studios and Fazbear Entertainment respectively. Becoming beloved by most and crucial pieces in their companies history. This also applies to William Afton as well, as he was once a humble man who started a rising company with his close friend and coworker; establishing a beloved brand of their time.
*However, that happy image stemming from their origins would begin to crumble. They would become incredibly dangerous monstrosities that added onto the raging flames of their companies reputation (For Springbonnie, it’s suit got attached to a psychopath and was left to rot for 30 years, and for William, he decent into madness overtime and became a destructive serial killer; Bendy however, became a nigh-unrecognizable demon, his original image crumbled and he became the Ink Demon). These downfalls were tossed aside for decades (Bendy was a harmless and soulless being so he was scrapped and left to rot, while William was a dead corpse who was covered up and left in the Backroom).
*They would emerge decades later, long after a majority of these incidents occurred, and would became the main antagonists of their first entry in their series (BatIM and FNAF 3). With that, they terrorized a main protagonist who came to these rundown attractions after 30 years (Henry and Micheal). They were aided by lesser entities (the Ink Enemies and the Phantoms). In the finales, they would supposedly be stopped for good by the very people who they were close to (Henry being Bendy’s creator, and Afton being Micheal’s father). However, they survived this (The End and the fire) and would return in later installments; deadlier than before and with new tricks up their sleeves.
*They also have the connection of having physical bodies made for them via maniacal cults and really strange machinery, having the power to infect minds and even souls with their corruptive nature. (SpringBonnie and Afton are associated with each other not only because of the murders but because they’re basically now the same thing. Meanwhile, Joey and Bendy, while not the same entity, are linked together in a strangely twisted way, due to their legacies being intertwined with each other.)
*In a more meta sense. They both quickly became one of the most iconic characters of their series, and even the modern horror genre as a whole. And in an even more meta sense, they’re known to be way more powerful than they realistically should be within the VS community.
Coolio MU. My favorite alt for Afton (Elias Shaw’s still my fav for Afton) but this vibes hard.
