Description
Inspired by Alfisti, AkA wraith11 (who usually just intimidates me with his daunting skill levels) and his insanely well rounded sense of fashion for his OC characters, I decided to run a few tests and do some quick sketches with Quistis of the Laguna/Quistis fratello.
Far left is an outfit based on her classic Final Fantasy VIII appearance. It feels a little out of place on young Quistis, but you better believe she can still snap that whip with a flick of the wrist and a quirk of the lips.
Next is an "original" Dual Trigger design with three-quarters sleeves on a collared shirt (worn with a tie). Although this is black and white, I imagine red trim on the sleeves. The dress is more of a burnt-sienna flavor, matched with a classic black belt and white trim. Because CG has no idea how shoes fashion works, those things on her feet are... well, functional at least (I hope). We'll have to work on shoes in the future...
Center we have Quistis' best "Dina" impression (a tribute to the di Tomaso fratello). The high waist and wide blooming skirt give the look a simple innocence by obscuring her young adult figure. By striking a less stand-offish pose, Quistis discards some of her natural persona and embraces a more child like presentation fit to make a first gen proud.
Center right reverses all that and puts Quistis in the fashionable shoes of Verotrois (part 1 of the three part Mayfair fratello). With close tailored denim and leather, Quis gets to show off Vee's attitude and stand tall as an assertive young adult acting beyond her years.
Finally, on the far right, Quistis dons an outfit inspired (but not inspected, condoned, or otherwise associated with) Monique "Monty" Blacker of the infamous globe trotting Blacker fratello. With most of her hair stuffed under a sunhat to mimic Monty's bobcut, Quistis dons a light-grey pea coat with navy highlights, a crimson neckerchief, a slate pencil skirt (which she is unused to. "How do girls live with this restriction? I can barely move..." -Q). Completing the ensemble is a purse over her right shoulder, black driving gloves, charcoal leggings, and... boots of somekind. Unfortunately, Quis didn't have time to get properly fitted for this costume and assumes full blame for wearing it wrong. In her own words, "What's the point of blaming an idiot? I should have known better. My handler, on the other hand..."

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the exercise! Perhaps in the future I'll come up with more "directly Quistis" designs. Until then I'll just be sitting here waiting to get sued over my non-preapproved tributes.
