Description So on August 21-22th I went to the Melbourne Anime Festival. It was my first serious cosplay, and though my outfit wasn't completed, it was received well.
This is a bit of a sneak peak for my outfit write up, and to show how well the blue torch worked. This photo will probably be 'shopped and updated, and this one moved to scraps.
I met up with a Katara, a few Zukos and a fire nation soldier (lots and lots of red!) and we had a lot of fun. This photo by beanie-nup is one of my favourites - [link]
I had so much awesome fun and am keen to get into a full cosplay. Countdown time to the Armageddon Expo!

Over a year later, and I can now point everyone in the direction of my cosplay group, where the outfit has been completed and the writeup of construction is located. See more photos of this cosplay in action--->

Lolol. I had one in between, that was Meryl from Trigun. I was really proud of this one, though I had a lot of help from my mum (lol) doing the tricky bits.
I mean to redo these properly with bigger flames. When you do your Azula I think you need to do this! Basically, they're very bright handheld LED torches, quite small. The tips were wrapped in cellophane, and stylised into flames. It was brain-numbingly bright and it worked really well for the photos.

I definitely want to try! LEDs just make cosplays so much cooler.

EEEEEE Cellophane flames!!

Then you can put them on strings and FIRE TWIRL WITH THEM. EPIC WIN.

Hi, it's a small hand held LED torch (very very bright) with blue cellophane wrapped around it and cut so that it looks like flames. This was a test to see how well it would photograph.
Thanks for looking
