Description
The Reflection of LoveBy: Charles Phillips
You lay your head by edge of our bed
you smirk at me with a come
and get me look
it drives me wild
and you know this
so you keep doing it
I start to change from suit
and all I can think about
is how we owned the dance floor
even though we kept stepping on each other’s toes
but I can assure you
your heels hurt far worse than my dress shoes
You ask me how you think tonight went
I simply without thinking answer
“well my toes hurt
and now I know how a father feels with a child on his feet.”
After I say that I turn to see you
you place your right hand on your shoulder
and reply
“Well sorry and I am not a child.”
I apologize
and try to recover
“I didn’t mean it like that,
I just meant we stepping on each other’s toes a lot.”
You agree
and shot me that smirk again
and once again I’m lost in you
your blonde hair sprawled on the bed
feet hanging off the other side of the bed
I continue to disrobe
and think about everything that is us
mainly how much I realize
how you’ve made me a better person
I look back
and see you
and before you can speak I hop on the bed next to you
and look at you
and know in my heart of hearts there is nothing I’d trade is moment for in the world.
