Description Wondering In The Sights
By: Charles Phillips

There she is again
standing there in her white sun dress
her hair damp from the falling rain
she knows I look her way
it doesn't faze her
she also knows that I’m too afraid to say something
I wish I could
I wish I had the gull too

The way her eyes can look into
even the heart of the coldest man
and bring it warmth
astounds everyone she graces with her presences
she is princess
no dare I say a queen
the most beautiful person
that most have seen

Most would chase her
most would fall at her feet
she is untouchable

She knows when she catches my gaze
the time flies
no it stands still
time refuses to pass
especially today
of all days

I find myself
stuck in the glow of her innocence
the soft glow of her skin
enhancing her beauty
along with her long hair
the damper it gets
the closer to a ravens fathers it grows

They call her magpie
in reference to the bird
that is equally as wonderful
and mysterious

The whole town knows she isn't to be approached
that she isn't to be spoken to
her father has made sure of that
she is a Indian Princess
but today I will
I will do what I know I mustn't
without care for myself

She stands at the edge of their land every day
the edge of her life
the edge of all she knows

You can hear her singing daily
with a voice like that of angel
trapped on earth
“You sing like the lark on high.”
I say to her
then she turns to me
then I tell her
“The rain makes you even more beautiful,
then I've ever seen.”
she smiles,
waves,
and I walk away
knowing that tomorrow there will be hell to pay

There she is again
standing there in her white sun dress
her hair damp from the falling rain
she knows I look her way
it doesn't faze her
she also knows that I’m not afraid to say something
now that I the gull too
