Description Geralt from The Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt

Geralt is probably my fave video character to date, so me drawing him was bound to happen someday. What finally motivated me to do so was my shared love of for the game with my brother - I drew this as a birthday gift for him (and sneakily photocopied one for my own wall heheh).

As well as Geralt being my favourite character, he's now the subject of my favourite work. I loved creating this piece so much because it pushed me to do so many new things with pencils. From creating the depth in his ageing beard, to adding signs of ageing in his face, to somehow capturing his sleek-white hair, to creating (barely passable) chainmail, and finally to creating those decent swords, I think I didn't do too bad!

How long did it take? Well, it was three years ago, and even a week after handing it to my brother I'd probably already forgotten due to the blisters on my fingers blocking it out. Probably 10-15 hours over a few days.

I used Grapite Pencils and prayers for it to actually come out looking like Geralt. And hand wipes - pencil artists know the pain of the pencil smear on your handside.
