Description
The statue stands outside the kingdom, stiff and lifeless, but its watchful gaze sweeps towards the horizon. The only hint of movement is the light from the waves dancing on its surface, as a statue should be. It's a wonder, one might think, that the beautiful jade decorations haven't been stolen yet - but only because the thieves have learned to run the moment they see those eyes start to glow.
Creature-Exchange that now belongs to Meowdle ! prompt here
1 - What parts of your prompt were written well and easy to understand? Was there anything the writer of the prompt could improve on or include next time they create a prompt?
the prompt was very straightforward, but with tons of freedom to make it fun! i wouldn't change a thing!
2 - Please explain how you interpreted the prompt to create your design. Which features did you use? Did you stick to the chosen palette or make changes to it? Does the design you created have any special abilities or quirks?
i wanted to give the impression that this statue was immeasurably old, so i picked two prehistoric animals as the base - a scimitar cat and a coelacanth! i also stuck with the sandy theme by making it a sandstone statue. originally i was going to give it some banding like sediment layers, but it ended up getting too complicated and didn't look good, and most statues i found as reference were one solid color. to keep it from looking empty, i added jade adornments to make it seem more regal! i also decided to give the jade a slight glow, which also serves as the color for the eye glow (they're just empty sockets when the statue isn't glowing/active). i also wanted to add some decay and sea life stuck to it, but i didn't want to complicate the design too much, so i opted to do two versions! it's up to you which one you want to use, or if you'd rather do a middle ground between them.
also, a quick note since it doesn't show up well in the design - their fin pattern is the same as a coelacanth, except for the very front two. there's another bottom fin between the front and hind legs, on the other side! also, the squiggle right at their front shoulder is a gill!
feel free to do literally anything with this design! it's yours to keep, use (even in commercial things), change, gift, sell, etc. all i ask is you credit the art, and credit the design once somewhere, like on a first piece of art or a toyhou.se profile! i hope you like them!!!

AAaa I love them!! They look amazing, and I love the idea of mixing two prehistoric animals together ^^ They're all I wanted and more! The colors look very well together, and I love the addition of the jade adornments - they really make the design look even more interesting. I love it a TON, thank you so much!!! ;u;
