Artemis is the older of two foals and was born as the result of magic. After trying to conceive through donor services and having no success, her mothers sought out a unicorn who had the ability to create a special plant that when mixed with certain ingredients and consumed, could create an embryo the could incubate and be born successfully without the use of a donor stallion. Her birth was difficult however and rather traumatizing for her mother Rin, and she swore never to use magic for pregnancy again. Things would prove even more difficult as time went on when it was apparent that Artemis had powers as a result of her unusual creation. Showdows that took shape and grabbed things seemingly of no effort. Creatures of darkness that contorted and grew fangs lerked in corners and began to become frightful. Rin and Dahlia were scared and didn't know what to do. They took the advice of a friendly Zebra who was a potions brewer and knew well of curses and dark magic and took steps to teach Artemis how to control her powers. However, these dark forces she had the ability to use, were dangerous and scary. This left her feeling afraid of herself and her powers, so she often hides in her room, meditating and doing her best to keep the shadows at bay. She's very protective of her younger brother Finn, and despite his much larger stature than hers, she's incredibly feisty when it comes to sticking up for him. Other than that she pretty reserved and shy. He doesn't mind though.
