Crow didn't expect the little turtle to be so disappointed about the rock he brought him, but most of all he didn't expect to be disappointed by the reaction.
"What's the problem? It's a meteorite. It's what stars are", he said lowering his ears.
The turtle looked at the rock and then at the wolf: "But... I can't ride this star! It's not sparkly! It's small! It doesn't move!".

Crow snorted and laid down: "You don't have to be so heartbroken about it", he started "Yes, maybe you can't - I don't know - fly on the sea at top speed with it", and that made the reptile lower his head, "but it's still a great rock. It travelled all the way from the sky so that you can hold it!" the turtle raised his head.

"Maybe it was the opposite: maybe it was the star that wanted help to continue its journey in the sea with you", he said standing up again, "and I think a turtle as small as you who can survive days on the beach alone will have no problems with any predators ever, by the way."

The little guy's eyes sparkled with admiration: "You.. you're right!” and, hugging Crow’s paw, the reptile added: “You’re the coolest, mister wolf!!”

Crow didn’t expect to feel so nostalgic as he watched the little boy swim away and surely he didn’t expect himself not to be able to move from the beach, eyes fixated on the horizon, until the little turtle was long gone. Until the sun kissed the sea at twilight.

And that’s the end of Crow’s turtle quest! It was such a pleasure to think of this little story and finally Crow loosens a little !
