Back story
Silas Brisk and her family have lived an existence of generational indentured servitude to the Golden Helix Haus ever since an ancestor of Silas's was spared death by a horrific plague by their generosity. There is no binding contract or legal clause forcing them to stay, but her family members have always experienced...difficulties in the past, when they tried to break away in the past. Jobs that won't hire them, businesses that won't sell to them, land owners that won't sell land.
However, with the new Frontier efforts, Silas is afforded a unique opportunity to strike out on her own and own her land directly through the government, where even the Golden Helix and their expansive resources can not affect her. After having purchased her first hound from the Haus that she's been born and raised in, Silas sets out on her own to stake her first Outpost in the Sweetgrass Glade.
