Description It was late but for some reason they called this meeting at the local 'office'.  Walking in from the rail station, this office always looks more like a campus with its large concrete buildings and open green fields of lawn. If it wasn't for the high chain link fence and guard posts, you'd never know that this place was something more.

Approaching the main building, I meet up with one of my co-workers. I only know him as Smith as he only knows me as Jones.  It's better not to know the names of others. There is less chance of discovery that way.  We exchange the familiar nod of acknowledgement, but nothing else.  I'm sure he is wonder, as I am, why are called here this time of night.

Suddenly on the street behind me three vehicles make quick, squealing turns in the street and head back towards the gate. Smith and I look at each other both realizing that something is amiss. We turn together and start running away from the main building as well. Running at an all out sprint would be hugely easier if I was not wearing these evening shoes. The grass is slick with the evening dew and I need to find cover, and I need to find it now.

I can just see Smith off to my right, but I can hear footfalls of someone else behind us following much too closely. We approach one of the outer buildings I hear the footfalls move to my left effectively keeping me from using the building for cover. I quickly glance over trying to find our pursuer. I cannot identify who it is, but there is a quick shadow across the wall, I swear that looked like a gun. Going to the gate is a mistake. I won't make it through there alive.

I peel away from Smith, running behind him away from the buildings and gate. I will have to take off my suit jacket to get over the fence. My white shirt will make me more visible but it will be the only way to scale the fence and razor wire and stay more or less intact.

My legs and lungs are burning, but I must make it someplace to signal my wife.  I can't let them use her, or our daughter, to get to me.
