Description
This is for Jesse's "competition" where he takes season 2 PR challenges and see how he, his friends, and other deviants match up to the actual competitors. This is the first challenge: Muslin. Each of the designers were sent six yards of unbleached cotton muslin and $20 for ancillary supplies. I used most of my muslin with the oversized corsage. My ancillary supplies were various blue dyes, two blue buttons, and a false gem. The challenge was to design an outfit that best expresses who each of them is as a designer; that is, their design philosophy and point of view. This is what I have come up with:
Empire waisted cocktail dress with various layers, (I'm infatuated with blue at the moment.), ruched detailing under the bust, and a giant corsage. Rapped Kapris with buttons and drawstrings Rapped Clutch Gloves

I like it a lot! Asymmetry is definitely "in" right now, and so is this design. I keep going back and forth between Annicka and your design trying to think who I would say win. But you are definitely in the top!

i love this! you are in! second to Annicka only! i think it tops many from the show! this dress is so elegant, and the color is so graceful! i personally love the corsage bit. it gives your eyes a focus. you come up the skirt to the empire waist (very classy, btw) and then the corsage pulls your attention. it's such a wonderful ornament on a relativly simple dress design. this is a classic with a bit of your flare. the capris are such a great modern dash of spice!

Adobe. ^^ I use the magic wand tool, select the background, and click "delete" on my keyboard.

Awesome. Very beautiful color, elegant but interesting, and totally your work. I like a lot of the details, and the asymetry. Mind if I re-interpret this in drawing representation at some point?

I don't exactly get the corsage... like is it executed correctly because I can't like picture what it looks like given the drawing. just like, if you didn't tell me that that was a corsage, i wouldn't've known.
and the fabric UNDER the corsage, is that just like going up around the left shoulder like a minisleeve? THAT i think is very pretty.
Besides that... color and silhouette are SO fabulous. It is really beautiful. You'd DEFINITELY Be in the top. OUTstanding +fav for me.
