(Story written by a friend cuz I suck at writing a romance scenario lmao)
Elaizah, the Fennekin, was invited out to a simple exploration assignment by one of the higher-ups of the Expedition Society: Serj the Buizel. However she could not have fathomed the motive for such a stunt. During their time working for the guild, Serj had secretly developed strong feelings for the Fennekin, and he wished to share them with her during this trip.
However, time scattered by so fast and before he knew it, they were back at the entrance of the society; albeit several hours later then they had planned. In desperation to salvage the moment, Serj approached Elaizah.
“Liza,” he said (calling her by her nickname), facing towards her in front of the main entrance to the building, “…I really appreciate you taking the time out of your day to assist me with this mission, and I’m sorry it took so long, however there’s something I need to tell you.”
Elaizah turned towards Serj, tilting her head slightly with curiosity at the sudden formality. “You needn’t worry Serj, it was a pleasure. You’re a good friend and I’ll always be willing to help you out if a job can seem too tough for you.”
“Well er… I-I could’ve done it alone no problem!” Serj corrected, “however I simply wanted to spend some time with you, for you see-“ Serj shifted his attention towards some snickering that was heard behind them within the building. A few members of the Expedition Society had watched the entrance out of concern for Elaizah and Serj’s disappearance, but now that they saw what was going on they watched on with wide eyes and poorly-hidden grins.
Embarrassed enough already, Serj threw caution into the wind and faced Elaizah once more, kneeling towards her while gently holding one of her front paws. “Elaizah, the truth is I like you. I… I really like like you.” The peanut gallery turned from snickering to chuckling as Serj did his best to pretend they weren’t there.
Elaizah, flustered, turned her head away suddenly. “Oh Serj... I do like you the same way, and I know what you're gonna say, but... love is a strong word., you know. I-I’ll have to give it some time.” She slowly moved her paw away from Serj’s grasp.
“That’s perfectly fine,” Serj responded, not missing a beat. “Take as much time as you need. No matter your decision though, I hope we can still be good friends.”
In contrary to being a nervous wreck, Elaizah forces a small smile and nods. “I-I’ll go get us some snacks, it’s been quite a long day,” she exclaims as she hastily retreats from the tense moment. Serj let’s out a sigh, stands up, and enters the building whilst shrugging off the grins and stares of his fellow guildmates.
"So Serj, how'd this 'expedition' go?" Bunnelby teased, but through a bad joke.
"Oh fuck off, you." Serj thought to himself as he hastily walked passed the bunny... with sheer embarassment of course, but also relieved that he was able to confess his feelings, albeit being friendzoned. But that didn't matter anyway, as she wanted to keep the friendship going, and so did he.
