DIALOGUE IS WRITTEN BY

All he could hear in his unconsciousness was the light thrashing of the waves. All he could feel is the grainy sand underneath his body. And above all else, a voice telling him to wake up, which made him slowly open his eyes, now looking at a blue figure towering above him.

“Ah, you’ve woken up… thank the heavens you are alive. To think a Water-Type needed to be saved from drowning.”

“HUH?? WAUUUGH?!” he jolted awake and sat upright as he saw the figure in its entirety. To him, it was a blue lochness monster with a shell in its back.

He then looked at his hands and felt his face… he felt… unnatural – well, to him, that is. A ring on his neck that he couldn’t take off, flippers in his arms, two tails behind him, and a kind of fin on his head.

“Oh, m-my apologies. I didn’t realize…” Lapras apologized, but not before he was interrupted by the Buizel’s sudden scream.

“WAAAAAUUUGH!!!” He yelled in a panic. “Who are you?! Where am I?! What happ-” The Lapras interrupted the ‘mon’s blabber by pressing him into the sand with his blue flipper to calm him down.

Another voice entered the scene. There, a Bunnelby came over to them. “Okay, you clearly have a lot of questions. We can try to answer those questions… if you ask them slowly and calmly. Can you do that?”

The Buizel slowly nodded yes after calming down, in which Lapras lets off his flipper from him and helped him up.

“Perhaps we should start with introductions. I am Benedict, and this is Lapras. He found you out in the open sea, not breathing.” The grey bunny said.

“Sorry if you were trying to sleep facing upright. I’ve seen a few Buizel do that before.” Lapras said.

“…Buizel? Is that what I am?” he went to the edge of the calm waters and looked at his reflection under the warm sun.

Benedict went beside him, looking at his own reflection and then looking at the now-surprised Buizel. “Well, it’s what you appear to be. Were you something else before?”

He stared at his reflection for a few more seconds. “Yes… I was…” He snapped back to reality and faced to the Bunnelby. “My name is Sergius, and I am… er, was a human living in Warwickshire.”

“War… err, not gonna try pronouncing that. Sounds really far away… is it?” Lapras asked, quite puzzled on how the Buizel said that name.

Benedict did a fake cough to save himself from the awkwardness that is that name he’s never heard of before. “Lapras, did you miss the part where he claimed to be a human? We’ve only heard about them from legends!”

“Legends?” Sergius tilted his head in confusion.

“I didn’t miss that part. I just don’t think it’ll be any trouble for him since he looks like a regular Pokémon.” Lapras replied.

“Po… ké… mon?”

Benedict sighed in dismay. “…oh dear. Well then, Lapras, you’re free to go. I’ll take it from here.”

“Thank you kindly, glad I could help. See ya, Benny!“ Lapras waved his flipper goodbye and then went his merry way.

“Such a colorful character, isn’t he?” Sergius crossed his arms.

“I… guess so.” Benedict put down his hand after waving goodbye as well. “Anyway, there’s a lot of Lively Town to go through before we can find your answers. Just follow my lead.”

“Sincerest thanks, Benedict.” Sergius smiled. You could say he warmed up to Benedict quite quickly. Who wouldn’t be?

“You’re welcome… Serj.” Benedict replied. You could say he warmed up to Sergius too… he even gave him a friendly nickname!
