Quick sketch of the maiden warrior.

When I read her description, I don't think she is as ugly as they consider her to be. I believe she didn't fit the standarts at her time. She is tall, very muscular, her lips are "swollen", she had her nose broken several times, etc etc. But when you look at our modern area, we often see very tall women as actress or models, lots of them get botox or hyaluronic injections in their lips to make them look bigger, some of our very sexy movie stars have horsed faces and wide smiles ( julia roberts for example) or less pretty but still tall and horse faced stars ( sarah jessica parker, celine dion), lots of them are now very muscular. Standards change over time. The only thing if Brienne lived in modern times it that shecould have her missing teeth replaced and her facial injuries fixed better.
