well I got Open Canvas 3 the other day and I decided to have a bit of a stuff around. It took me a while to get used to how it worked but I figured it out.....after a while
and I like how it turned out. It's a little lacking in some parts and the lineart isn't the best in the world (the characters pose is all wrong and his waist is too thin) but it still looks ok 
. I got the idea for the smoking thing on a rope from an old national Geographic I was looking through the other day. Monks or something have little insence pots hanging from chains or soemthing, so I created my own >.< and I dunno why a sheety thing is hanging there, so don't ask.hmm....deviantart is all wierd and decided to change around again, so I think this is in the right place ^_^
anyways my first attempt at Open canvas, I think I'll be using it more often in conjunction with Photoshop

Very very nice....havent had the chance to work with OC3 yet, but I've heard it can be difficult for beginners. So, excellent work from one who knows nothing. =^*_*^= nyaaar...

Really nice work. Great colouring. Don't really think the waist is too thin. There actually lots of guys with a broad upper body and a thin waist... just like me.. (makes buying shirts hellish)

I think the thing that drew me to this picture was your color pallete -- I'm really digging the natural, warm tones. Looking closer, the little details on the character design are quite nifty (I always keep a stack of National Geographics laying around for inspiration, too. XP) I like how you've set him up to look like a monk, yet you've got his tongue sticking out. Neat little contradiction. ^_^
